1972 Ford Bronco Parts & Accessories – History & Specifications

One major change in the 1972 Ford Bronco was Ford’s modification of the fuel system to include additional vapor control system in an attempt to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions.  The catalyst for this change was the 1972 oil crisis in which gas prices skyrocketed from 38.5 cents per gallon to 55.1 cents (imagine paying that much, lol).  Outside of this modification, not much changed from the prior year likely because of the focus Ford had to put on all of their models in order to survive the crisis.  Late in 72 year model, Ford did start to offer some of the new features planned for the 1973 models including power steering upgrades and new dash control lights to make night driving a bit more comfortable.
