1973 Ford Bronco Parts & Accessories – History & Specifications
In 1973, Ford introduced two very popular upgrades for the early Bronco. First was a new Power Steering option which took the pressure off trying to corner in tight situations. This powers steering setup featured a new power steering box designed specifically for the early Bronco that mounted on the outside of the driver’s side frame in order to maintain inside clearance for the radiator. Secondly, Ford also offered for the first time early Broncos built at the factory with a C4 automatic 3-speed transmission. The Auto Transmission upgrade made driving the early Bronco much more user friendly for inexperienced drivers or those that just prefer to hop in and go without worrying what gear to shift in and out of.
