Convert your 66-77 Classic Ford Bronco to an AOD Automatic Overdrive Transmissions. The AOD automatic is the overdrive transmission of choice with a 1st gear ratio of 2.40:1, 2nd 1.47:1, 3rd 1:1 and the 4th gear ratio of 33% overdrive. The T-style transfer case is the easiest transfer case to adapt to. The J-style transfer case can be used but the shifter will take some ingenuity. Also see AOD custom cross member kit, Part #6047.

Factory mount sets will need slight modification for this kit. See Tech Advice for more info.

NOTE: TOMS OFFROAD recommends the #6044 kit for all customers installing a 2wd or 4wd AOD. For part #6044, you are required to install a new tailshaft which is included in the kit. We recommend rebuilding the transmission at this time. If you do not want to change out the tailshaft in your 4WD AOD (not recommended), you can purchase our #6044A from the dropdown menu. The #6044A requires modification of the existing tailshaft and increases the overall drivetrain length 3+ inches. A custom crossmember will also be needed if using #6044A as TOMS OFFROAD'S crossmember will not work due to the increased drivetrain length. If possible, install the #6044 to prevent these modifications and retain a much better driveshaft angle on your Bronco. If you have any questions in regards to the AOD/AODE/4R70W swap, don't hesitate to give us a call!

Fits 1966 to 1977 Ford Broncos with 289, 302 or 351w V8 motor and factory Dana 20 transfer case. If running a single-stick T-Style shift handle assembly, shimming of this assembly (1/2" - 5/8") is required to gain proper clearance for shifter.
