Tom's Offroad carries replacement fenders for the 1966–1977 early Bronco in steel. Steel fenders are preferred for restorations requiring a factory-correct finish. Wider aftermarket fenders with increased flare are also available for builds running larger tires that extend beyond the stock fender opening.

Installing fiberglass fenders on an early Bronco follows the same basic process as steel, unbolt the old fender, transfer any mounting hardware, and bolt the new fender in place. Fiberglass fenders may require minor trimming at the mounting flanges for a precise fit. Prime the fender with a fiberglass-compatible primer and adhesion promoter before painting, and seal all mounting points with body caulk to prevent water intrusion.

Early Bronco fenders rust most commonly at the lower lip, around the wheel arch opening, and at the fender-to-cowl seam where water and debris collect. The inner fender well is also prone to rust where the wheel throws mud and moisture against the backside of the panel. Regular washing of the wheel wells and prompt touch-up of paint chips significantly slows fender deterioration.

Early Bronco fender design remained the same between the 1966–1977 model years. There were some minor differences about what was applied to the fenders, such as reflectors or marker lights, emblems and so on. Most reproduction fenders don't have any holes for these items, to the items can be appied as wanted.

Yes, fender flare extensions that bolt or rivet to the outer edge of the stock fender are available for the early Bronco, providing additional tire coverage for builds running wider wheels and tires. Full replacement wider fenders are also available in fiberglass for builds requiring maximum clearance. Flares are required in most states when tires extend beyond the stock fender width.
