I recently replaced the window gaskets on the hard top of my Bronco. The finished result looks great. I would like to pass on a couple of helpful tips. First, the TBP instruction video on installing windshield glass was very informative. Especially when it came to using the rope-in-tool which is an absolute necessity. When I ordered my 4pc glass seal kit, I did order the rope-in-tool (#1646) and also the hook tool (#1647). They don't use the hook tool in the video, but I found it to be very helpful when pulling out the rope in tight areas. The guys in the video are right that the corners are the hardest part to pull the rope from. In my case, I also had trouble pulling out the rope along the bottom and sides of each piece of glass. So be sure to wear a good pair of work gloves when pulling out the rope. I was wearing a thin pair of those 'surgical' gloves to help prevent fingerprints on the glass and ended up with blisters on both hands from having to pull so hard on the rope. Also, be careful when pulling the rope out around those tight corners, because the rope can and will 'cut' into the rubber gasket if you pull too hard. These were the areas where the hook tool really came in handy. One more thing. The 5oz tube of Permatex window adhesive was not quite enough to do all 4 pieces of glass. So be sure to order 2 of them.Review by: Erin, Sep 29, 2022
