Transmission Information
The AX15 transmission is manufactured by Aisin Warner and is well known for its strength and reliability. It is commonly found behind the AMC 4.0L inline six-cylinder engine and has proven to be very capable of handling the horsepower and torque of a V8 engine, making it a popular choice for early Bronco swaps.
The overall transmission case length measures 24.000 inches. The output shaft features a 23-spline design and protrudes approximately 0.400 inch. Gear ratios include a 3.83 first gear and a 21 percent overdrive in fifth gear, providing excellent low-speed control and improved highway cruising.
