Adapt a late Ford AOD automatic overdrive transmission to your 1966–77 Bronco Dana 20 transfer case with this AOD Late to Dana 20 Adapter Kit. Designed for use with the stock 4WD 31-spline output shaft, this adapter measures 7.40 inches in length and is constructed from durable 356 T-6 heat-treated aluminum alloy. It also features a provision to retain the original Early Bronco transmission mount.

This adapter kit fits all 1966–77 Bronco Dana 20 transfer cases and requires a T-style transfer case shifter linkage for proper operation. The AOD transmission is a popular upgrade thanks to its excellent gearing for both trail and highway driving. Because the AOD is longer than the stock V8 transmission, crossmember relocation and modification are required. The kit includes all major components needed for installation, making it a complete solution for your drivetrain upgrade.

IF RUNNING THE 2WD AOD OR ARE REBUILDING THE 4x4 AOD TRANSMISSION, TOMS OFFROAD recommends the #6044 adapter kit for all customers installing a 2WD or 4WD AOD transmission. 

If you choose not to replace the tailshaft in a 4WD AOD transmission (if the transmission is already rebuilt and you don't want to tear it apart again to replace the tailshaft), this #6044A kit is needed. This option requires modification of the existing tailshaft and increases overall drivetrain length by more than 3 inches. A custom transmission crossmember will be required, as the TOMS OFFROAD crossmember will not fit due to the increased drivetrain length.
